About the volunteering opportunity
You want to volunteer and improve the living situation of refugees? In the emergency accommodation for refugees in Berg am Laim, we are happy about your commitment!
In the course of the reception of refugees from Ukraine, a new emergency accommodation has also been created in Berg am Laim in the Hachinger-Bach-Str. 19. Consisting of four lightweight dormitories, a catering tent and office and sanitary containers, the accommodation offers 418 places for the acute accommodation of refugees from Ukraine as well as other countries of origin. The BRK takes care of the socio-educational support of the residents
Your Tasks
Possible volunteer activities can be, for example:
- Support in childcare (playing together, crafts, painting, sports activities, homework supervision or supervision)
- Support of refugees in the job search (eg research for suitable jobs, writing resumes, practice interviews, etc.)
- Interpreting (Ukrainian/Russian) especially at out-of-town appointments of the residents:inside (authority appointments, doctor's appointments, etc.)
- Help sorting clothing donations
- Place for your ideas and own offers (eg language course, connection to offers in the neighborhood, city tours)
What's needed
- At least 16 years old
- Enjoyment and patience in dealing with people
- Intercultural sensitivity
- Wish to help disadvantaged people
- Identification with the principles of the Red Cross
- For childcare: police clearance
