Volunteers wanted: Support the digital participation of people with a cognitive impairment (Neukölln)

Are you looking for a meaningful job and do you have a knack for digital technologies and media? Then you've come to the right place!

Support us as a volunteer in the "DigiTeilhabe" pilot project and help to make our society more inclusive. The "DigiTeilhabe" project is about breaking down barriers in the use of digital technologies and media for people with disabilities and experiencing poverty and empowering them to use digital technologies in a self-determined way. The "DigiTeilhabe" project is being implemented in six AWO facilities across Germany. One of these project locations is the AWO FALK-Club in Berlin Neukölln, a culturally sensitive leisure facility for people with and without support needs. The FALK-Club offers courses with tablets and smartphones for people with cognitive impairments.

Your Tasks

For the courses, we are looking for people with tablet/smartphone experience who can support our course participants in 1-to-1 contact if required (e.g.: How do I install and operate an app?). It is important for us to teach the operation of apps and to impart knowledge about the operation of devices. Experienced instructors accompany the program.

Time required

The MARIE Engagement Office is the contact point for volunteering at AWO Berlin Kreisverband Südost e.V.

We advise interested parties on the opportunities and framework conditions for volunteering in the district association's facilities and projects.

We place interested volunteers in a suitable placement.

We offer volunteers:

Contact persons,

Insurance cover (accident and liability),

Proof of volunteer work,

Further training, exchange of experience, etc.

Our facilities are located in the Berlin districts of Neukölln, Lichtenberg, Reinickendorf and Treptow-Köpenick.

Daycare centers, after-school care centers, family centers, 1:1 support as part of a sponsorship... The opportunities for volunteering with us are many and varied!
