Develop and carry out ecological city walks

The Naturefriends Berlin project "Climate-friendly coexistence in Berlin" is already in its third year. After four ecological city walks were prepared and carried out in 2022 and 2023 on the topics of "How can cities be designed to be climate-friendly?", "Healthy nutrition and climate protection", "Leisure activities and climate" and "Consumption and climate", the participants are developing the last ecological city walk this year, focusing on the topic of "sustainability". At the same time, new environmentally friendly activities are being planned. Environmental clean-up campaigns, gardening campaigns and sustainability campaigns are being carried out at various locations in Berlin. The aim is to develop visible, everyday measures for the protection, development and maintenance of urban greenery together with local residents and implement them in public spaces.The project addresses the need to strengthen the sense of community of people with and without a history of migration living in Berlin and make it visible through joint action and diverse activities. By working together for a climate-friendly coexistence, tolerance and understanding are to be promoted, which can help to break down existing stereotypes, prejudices and discriminatory treatment towards people with a history of migration. Participants in the project are empowered to become urban nature multipliers.

Your Tasks

Develop and implement ecological city walks, including defining stations, writing short texts, recording video clips, taking photos, carrying out research, walking routes, etc.

Prepare and carry out environmentally friendly activities, e.g. gardening activities, sustainability activities, environmental clean-up activities, etc.

What's needed

Participation is free and requires no prior knowledge. However, you will need a PC with Internet access.

Time required

The working meetings to prepare the ecological city walks take place 2-3 evenings a month. They are hybrid (on site + Zoom).

The ecological city walks and environmentally friendly activities take place on Friday afternoons or at weekends.
