With the language café, the youngcaritas Mannheim want to actively support migrants and refugees in learning German. As a volunteer, you can accompany the participants in improving their language skills in an appreciative atmosphere. 2 | Support a clothing meet swap of the youngcaritas Mannheim
Another project of the youngcaritas is the clothing meet swap, which will take place on June 8 as part of the project “Gute N8cht Mannheim”. They are looking for volunteers who would like to support a variety of different tasks. Whether it’s setting up the stands, dismantling them or welcoming visitors, with your help you can contribute to a successful swap meet and to more sustainable consumption patterns.

3 | Become a reading mentor for primary school children
With their voluntary commitment, reading mentors strengthen the reading and learning skills of primary school children with difficult starting conditions. The non-profit organization KinderHelden is currently looking for volunteers who would like to take on a reading mentorship as part of the project “LeseTandem+” . Together with the children, you can immerse yourself in the world of stories and allow them to acquire the language and reading skills they need for their future.
4 I Get involved in a tandem partnership between refugees and locals in Mannheim
To help newly arrived refugees, Start with a Friend e.V. arranges tandem partnerships between locals and newcomers. The focus of these intercultural encounters lies on a valuable exchange of experiences in order to support the refugees with regard to various questions in their new everyday life in Germany. Become part of an active community with many enriching encounters!

5 I Support the organisation of events in order to bring together locals and newcomers
The association nice to meet you e.V. has set itself the goal to strengthen the integration work and to bring people from different backgrounds together. For this purpose, small group events are organized on a regular basis to create a meeting place for locals and newcomers in Mannheim. The team is looking for support in event planning and networking with other associations. You can also contribute to the design of the website and social media channels.
6 I Join the Oxfam Shop Mannheim
The Oxfam Shop in Mannheim is run by a team of volunteers. A wide range of donations in kind is sold there in order to financially support development projects. This involves a wide variety of tasks.
