The masks do not protect against infection, but inhibit the spreading of droplets when speaking. These masks do not offer the official protection standard, but they are better than no protection at all.
In our residential facilities live people who belong to the risk group, because they are old and/or have a previous illness. We want to do everything possible to protect our clients and employees as good as possible and therefore we are looking for volunteers to donate self-sewn protective masks. This way we can stretch our material until the supply shortages are over.
Hand-sewn respirators cannot be used for all measures, but they help us to reduce the spread of infection through symptom-free wearers.
