About the volunteering opportunity

Our guesthouses in Brandenburg and on the Baltic Sea coast, on the Fischland–Darß–Zingst Peninsula, are nestled amid beautiful natural surroundings and offer countless opportunities for exciting stays. Relaxation and adventure go hand in hand here, and one thing is guaranteed—you’ll never be bored! For our vacation programs in Groß Väter, we’re looking for volunteers who are eager to help make the summer vacation colorful and varied for and with the children.

Your Tasks

You will lead and carry out planned activities and programs for children (without assuming supervisory responsibility). These include reading (aloud) Bible stories, singing and leading songs, doing creative crafts with natural materials, supervising experiments, organizing exploratory activities indoors and outdoors—in the meadow, the woods, at the beach, and in the garden—and planning movie nights. You’re also welcome to try out and implement your own ideas.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Expected attitude: You are convinced that every person has an inalienable dignity and are prepared to act in accordance with the Code of Conduct of the Berlin City Mission. You are respectful of the Christian faith as well as other religions and world views.

Requirements: You must be at least 18 years old for this voluntary position. A good knowledge of German is also necessary. As this is an honorary position with great responsibility, an extended certificate of good conduct is required. There are no costs for this.

Time required

Project-based
On weekdays, during the day, at night
Time commitment: approx. 4 hours per day, for at least one week (5 days, Monday through Friday)
When: July12 –August 6, 2027, at the Marta Guesthouses on Lake Groß Väter

Important notice

What we are looking for:  You bring enjoyment and experience in working with children, children's groups and families. Experience in leading activities/programs for children and children's groups is desirable. Empathy and openness to new things, as well as independence and reliability are essential. We particularly welcome volunteers who are close to the Christian faith or are Christians themselves. However, this attitude is not expected.
