About the volunteering opportunity
In the "home care" project, we place volunteer helpers with senior citizens. The aim is to counteract the loneliness and isolation of older people in the district. Our volunteers spend 1 - 3 hours with "their" senior citizens once a week.
Your Tasks
The tasks are agreed individually with them and the older person. This often involves accompanying them shopping, going for a walk, chatting and spending time together.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Before the commitment begins, we offer training on all relevant topics (maintaining boundaries, dealing with age-related issues, behavior in other people's homes, how to protect yourself, age-related illnesses, etc.). In addition to attending the training, it is helpful to be patient, sensitive and humorous.

Approx. 2 hours per week.
The time frame is agreed according to the possibilities and needs of the helper and the person seeking help. As a rule, we agree on a weekly meeting of approx. 2 hours.
Important notice
Volunteers receive an expense allowance for their work in the project.
Stadtteilbüro Neuperlach
The Neuperlach district office is a meeting point and contact for all families and citizens from Neuperlach. We advise, accompany and support people in personal and financial emergencies and offer help. We also organise courses and various group offers. Interested citizens can volunteer with us in a variety of ways, get to know neighbours, make contacts and network with each other.
Our offers include among others:
Social / pension / patient counselling, form help, neighbourhood help, clothes closet, special offers for families and seniors, groups and courses.
