About the volunteering opportunity
The Tür an Tür German café is an open meeting place for people who want to improve their German language skills - uncomplicated, close to everyday life and in a relaxed atmosphere. There are no teachers sitting in front of the table here, but people sitting together at the table, talking about everyday topics, laughing together and learning from each other.
For this to succeed, we need committed volunteers who enjoy talking, can listen and are open to others. Previous teaching experience is not necessary - what matters is your desire to share and help others learn German.
As a volunteer in the German café, you will accompany small discussion groups, explain words or phrases and create a warm environment in which participants feel comfortable. At the same time, you will also broaden your own horizons: you will get to know different people, stories and cultures and play an active role in shaping the community in Augsburg.

Your Tasks
- Accompanying small discussion groups
- Listening, asking questions and motivating to speak
- Explaining words, idioms and everyday situations
- Support with speaking freely and using the language
- Creating an open and friendly atmosphere
- Exchange with people from different cultures
- Flexible participation - e.g. once a week or by arrangement
