Approved doctors wanted for the outpatient clinic

The outpatient clinic offers a low-threshold medical care service for people in need. It enables people without health insurance to take advantage of a free medical consultation twice a week. In addition to medical care, those affected can warm up, take a shower and have a drink. Common health problems include wounds, parasite infestations and injuries. For more serious cases, there are several care beds where patients can recover. There are also eyeglass and psychiatric consultations, as well as an ENT consultation if required.

Activity: The tasks include the examination of homeless, sick people. If necessary, patients are given immediate treatment, e.g. treatment of wounds. In an emergency, hospital admission is organized. Decisions on the use of therapy and the administration of medication are made by you in order to ensure optimal medical care.

Prerequisites: You are a licensed physician. You can communicate well in German and English. Language skills in Polish, Romanian, Bulgarian or Russian are an advantage but not a requirement. The minimum age for this volunteer position is 18 years.

Youwill enjoy this voluntary work: You are internally motivated to volunteer your professional expertise for homeless people. You are open to complicated life situations. You are reliable and enjoy taking on responsibility. You have an open ear for all patients and are friendly towards them.

Time commitment: We would like a regular commitment. For example, once a month depending on agreement and availability.

when: Fridays from 11 am to 3 pm

Expected attitude: You are convinced that every person has an inalienable dignity and are prepared to act in accordance with the Code of Conduct of the Berlin City Mission. You are respectful of the Christian faith as well as other religions and world views.
