About the volunteering opportunity

Become a mentor for the long-term accompaniment of a home child

We are looking for mentors who would like to look after a child or young person over a long period of time. The children live in care homes and have no or no regular contact with their family of origin. We would like to have contact for about 14 days and spend some time together with them in everyday life.

This way you can help

Your Tasks

You give the children/young people a long-term contact point outside of the care home, you are a reference person, spend the daily routine together and spend time doing nice activities.

Whats needed

You should be in professional life and have a well-established personality. You should be able to deal with children and young people and be patient and open-minded. We are especially happy about male interested parties at the moment, because many boys lack a male reference person. At the moment we are urgently looking for mentors in Düren and Wuppertal, but also in Cologne, Bonn, Rhein-Sieg-Kreis, Lohmar, Rösrath etc.

You will fit into our team if

you have patience and a good eye for children and young people and would like to accompany a young person on his or her way in the long term.

German Skills

Please note: For this volunteering opportunity, you need German skills on the level „Medium German skills“.
