About the volunteering opportunity

for our women's language café in the refugee accommodation on Hagenower Ring, we are looking for committed volunteers who would like to help women from different cultural backgrounds to improve their German language skills. In a safe and supportive environment, we offer participants the opportunity to learn in a creative way - be it through playful language exercises, question games or exciting conversations on current topics. The language café promotes exchange and togetherness in the community, while at the same time strengthening the confidence and language skills of the participants. We look forward to your support to enrich this project and help the women with their integration.

Your Tasks

as a volunteer at the women's language café in the refugee accommodation center, you will play an important role in helping the participants to improve their German language skills. You will help with conversations, play language games or come up with creative ideas to make the lessons varied. You will also help to offer topics that interest the women in order to promote learning and exchange. This requires flexibility and creativity - whether through small workshops, themed evenings or playful exercises. Your support will help to make the language café a place where people can meet, learn and grow together.

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
Interest in working with people from different cultural backgrounds
basic knowledge of the German language (B2 or higher recommended)
patience, empathy and openness
creativity and a willingness to contribute new ideas
experience in the field of language support is an advantage, but not required

Time required

Regularly
Discussed individually
On weekdays, during the day
the women's language café will take place once a week. The exact day of the week and time can be set flexibly in consultation with the volunteers, although we prefer the meetings to take place during the day. We are looking for volunteers who can attend regularly or organize the whole project

Important notice

Respectful and appreciative interaction with the participants is particularly important to us. Every person should feel welcome and supported.
Flexibility and the willingness to adapt to the different needs of the participants are a great advantage.
In an environment such as a refugee shelter, it is important to create trust - therefore we ask for discretion and responsible behavior.
We are very happy if you bring in your own creative ideas! Every new idea can help to make the language café even more interesting and varied.

The address is Hagenower Ring (not Gehrenseestrasse)
