About the volunteering opportunity

What is the Ehrentag 2026?
To mark the birthday of our Basic Law, countless participatory activities will take place throughout Germany from May 16-31, 2026, culminating on the Ehrentag on May 23.

What is #Pinselpost about?
Many older people in care facilities in particular often experience their everyday lives as quiet and routine, sometimes even lonely. With the #Pinselpost campaign, you can set an example of closeness, appreciation and humanity by sending a letter to senior citizens in care facilities. This will bring a change to their day and give them the feeling that they are not alone.

Your Tasks

Whether painting pictures or doing handicrafts or writing little letters and poems. There are no limits to your creativity. Ink or colored pencil drawings, decorative handicrafts, window pictures, spring photos, poems or thoughts. Simply create something that you think will bring joy to another person.

You can simply put the finished work of art in an envelope and send it to one of the participating care facilities or bring it by. The addresses of the participating facilities are listed here: Addresses

  • A stamp or the option of posting the post yourself on site
You can get started at any time. However, we would of course be delighted to receive a photo of your artwork or share it yourself on your social networks using #Pinselpost.
