About the volunteering opportunity

Would you like to help out at a fun neighborhood festival and help create a cozy atmosphere?

On November 18 from 3 to 6 p.m., we’re hosting a Festival of Lights at our family center in Charlottenburg-Nord for families and people from the neighborhood—colorful, diverse, and open to everyone!

We’re looking for 1–2 dedicated volunteers to help us with the grill and the fire pit. You’ll keep an eye on both, help make sure everything runs smoothly, and contribute to making our guests feel at home.

We’ll be celebrating outdoors in our beautiful courtyard. It’s all about connection, community, and bringing together people from different backgrounds and life situations.

Here’s what you should bring to the table:

  • A love for helping out at a neighborhood festival

  • A sense of responsibility and a keen eye

  • Reliability when handling a grill and open fire

Prior experience isn’t absolutely necessary—what’s important is that you’re attentive and act with safety in mind.

What to expect: a lively celebration, friendly encounters, a warm atmosphere, and the chance to strengthen community spirit in the neighborhood through your involvement.

The “Neighborhood Moms” project at the Jungfernheide Family Center supports families with a migration background in matters related to parenting, education, health, and everyday life in Berlin. As part of our family and community outreach efforts, we promote interaction, mutual support, and social participation, and aim to strengthen families and help them connect with one another.
