As a family relief service of the Einhorn gGmbH, we offer children and young people with an impairment varied leisure activities. For support in the area of individual accompaniment we are always looking for dedicated children's companion.
In the individual accompaniment you accompany a child with impairment regularly, usually 1 time per week for 2-3 hours in the afternoon or on the weekend in their free time. For example, you go to the playground together or go on small excursions. Also a therapy accompaniment is possible.
As a volunteer companion you accompany, for example, a child with down syndrome, autism, ADHD, mental impairment and / or physical impairment. Please note that each child is individual regardless of their impairment and that the diagnosis is only part of their colorful personality . The age range of children seeking one-on-one companionship is from 3 to 18 years old. Of course, we take your individual strengths and weaknesses into consideration when finding a child for you. You decide where your personal limit is and what tasks you are comfortable with.
We offer you the opportunity to gain enriching experiences. You will also receive a free and competent induction. In line with our child protection concept, this also includes that you apply for an extended certificate of good conduct with our support and submit it to us. We are happy to offer you an hourly allowance, free training, reliable support for your voluntary work and much more.
We work throughout Berlin. In the joint process, we will find a family that lives near you and is a good fit for you.
You need an intermediate knowledge of German to take on a one-on-one companionship.
You do not necessarily need experience working with children or people with disabilities. We welcome an open attitude, empathy and patience.
This commitment is planned on a regular and longer-term basis: about 2 hours per week for at least a year.
Reliability, punctuality and regularity are very important to our families.
The concrete needs will be individually agreed with the respective families. The times depend on the needs of the families and on your personal time capacities.
Please note that your German language level should be at least B2.
We are a families relief service offering leisure activities to kids and youth with disabilities. We provide group activities (swimming, excursions, sport, cooking), individual support as well as vacation trips to children. All that is organized by volunteering child care workers and a a supporting coordinator team.
