A colourful team, from the manager to the househusband, sorts an equally diverse selection of donated fruit and vegetables according to the principle of the five senses and valid food standards. First you will get a short introduction and then you can get directly involved in the sorting of food together with many other volunteers. Afterwards the food will be packed in bags so that it can be given to Berliners an Ukrainian refugees in need.
Of course there will be a lunch break where you will get a free vegetarian lunch :)
Together with many volunteers you will be responsible for sorting donated food (mainly fruits and vegetables). Afterwards, the food bags are packed for delivery to needy households.
Here you can find the info sheet about the activity.
You should have a basic physical fitness, be interested in handling food and have no reservations about coming into contact with goods that are no longer edible. You should also be able to approach other employees proactively and ask them for advice when you have already completed your task.
You can get the following materials from us:
Please bring clothes that are allowed to get dirty (T-shirts to cover the "protection from dirt" are available on site!) and socks, as you will get work shoes.
Of course we also offer a delicious vegetarian lunch from donated food for all volunteers!
Due to the current situation we ask you to pay special attention to the following hygiene guidelines.
You need to sign up for this project 1 day(s) in advance
