We are a non-profit association with about 15 active volunteers who twice a week (Wed and Sat 9-13:00) maintain an approximately 4.5 hectares of publicly used nature park on the southern outskirts of Berlin. We aim to create and maintain habitats for native plants and animals.
Our park has a large meadow for events or sports activities, a fruit meadow, a small forest, a wildflower meadow in the making, flower borders and nesting boxes for birds and bats. A dry stone wall and a sandarium for amphibians and ground-nesting insects have been newly created, as well as two hedgehog burrows and a wildwood hedge.
Everyone who joins us can grow their own vegetables on a small raised bed. We end each workday with a shared snack. For integration and communication with new supporters, a good knowledge of German is essential, because unfortunately not all of us speak a foreign language.
There are many different tasks for you to take care of:
We are also happy if you bring ideas yourself!
We are happy about regular commitment. We work twice a week Wed and Sat from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm in the park.
Regularly can also mean once a month, for example, is not expected that you volunteer twice a week.
Commitment to agreements on work planning and implementation are important.
Unfortunately, we are not very confident in communicating in English (written and spoken), so we would ask you to communicate with us in German. Thank you for your understanding.
