We want to create with you a year-long environmental and garden project for children and young people of the community housing Hagenower Ring. Following on from the garden year last year, the 4 beds that have been created are to be planted and new beds are to be created. On the weekly taking place garden day the garden activity stands in the center, this is linked with trips concerning environment and nature.
It is built thus, tinkered and planted. The project is accompanied by a full-time child care worker, which is looking for support in the implementation.
- Implementation of the project days (with the support of the volunteer coordinator/child care worker)
- creative design of the project days
The volunteer should have experience in dealing with groups of children. Intercultural competence is needed in this field of work. In addition, we would like to see an interest in nature and the environment and a certain creativity.
The garden project takes place every Thursday from 16.00-18.00. Including preparation and follow-up a volunteering time of 15.30-18.30 would be desirable.
Regular volunteering is desired, as this is helpful for the processes and for relationship building with the children. However, this does not have to be every week. This can also be every other week or once a month.
mitHilfe GmbH is a non-profit, independent provider of social services and help for refugees in Berlin. We offer advice, support and assistance for people who are threatened by homelessness or who have already lost their homes. We also run shelters for refugees in order to create perspectives, promote integration and shape diversity together.
Since 2015, mitHilfe has been involved in the care of refugees. We use our competence and experience in social work in Berlin to help shape diversity together and to offer people a first place to stay, information, advice and support after their flight.
Since July 2017, mitHilfe GmbH has been operating the community accommodation in modular construction for refugees in the Hagenower Ring in the Berlin district of Lichtenberg-Hohenschönhausen. The facility offers space for 300 people.
