The Munich 2024 Documentary Film Festival is looking for dedicated volunteers in May!

Become part of the DOK.fest München team and support us in the organization of the 39th DOK.fest München from 01 to 20 May 2024 as a volunteer!

DOK.fest München is one of the largest documentary film festivals in Europe with a focus on the long, creative and international documentary film. We show around 120 films from over 40 countries and host filmmakers from all over the world. In 2024 we celebrate our 39th edition.

As a motivated documentary film and festival enthusiast, you now have the opportunity to look behind the scenes of DOK.fest München and actively participate.

We show our film program at various venues in Munich's city center and since 2022 we also come to your living room as DOK.fest München @home. The events of our industry platform DOK.forum, the educational program DOK.education and the Africa focus DOK.network Africa also take place during the festival. In order to realize all this and guarantee our guests a good time, we need your support!

Your Tasks

As a volunteer, you can help shape the festival and get involved in the following areas:

• Cinema support
  • Responsible for the organizational process
  • Admission, audience and guest support
  • VR pop-up cinema from 26.04.
• Ticketing
  • Ticket sales and program advice
  • Friendly and service-oriented approach
• Accreditation
  • Issuing the festival pass
  • Guest support
• Support for our "@home area" - possible from home anywhere in Germany - PC and cell phone required
  • Hotline support
  • Mail support
• Industry platform DOK.forum
  • Support for the DOK.forum conferences and workshops
  • Support of the marketplace
• Special Events
  • Opening and award ceremonies
  • Admission, audience and guest support

• the atmosphere of an international festival
• exclusive insights into the organization of a major cultural event
• a pleasant working environment in a committed and open team
• a festival pass and thus the opportunity to view all films
• a dual film festival that takes place both in the cinema and on the home screen

What's needed

We expect a friendly demeanor, reliability, good German and English skills.

Please only people over the age of 18 can register for this.

Time required

The individual shifts last 5-7 hours. The prerequisite is that you can help out on at least 4 shifts, if possible on consecutive days.
