In the beeMentor project, we place volunteers as mentors with refugee families living in Hamburg who need support in various areas of life.
bee4change e.V. is a non-profit organization. We were founded in 2015 with the vision to support disadvantaged groups. We are a young team, consisting largely of volunteers who themselves have a refugee or migration history. What unites us is the conviction that engagement on a private level can initiate great social change and that everyone can contribute to more tolerance and diversity.
Your tasks would be, for example, the accompaniment to visits to the authorities or to the doctor, help with translation, support in finding housing, in the application for a job or training, the joint undertaking of leisure activities, and much more. You determine the scope and limits of your mentorship. We will then find the right match for you.
The mentorships are entered into for a period of six months. However, mentorships often last longer. Together with the family, you decide whether you want to meet regularly on a fixed day or organize your meetings spontaneously and as needed. As a guideline, you should plan about two hours per week for the mentorship. In reality, mentorships often look very different and are coordinated individually between you as a mentor and the family
bee4change e.V. is a social and non-profit organization with the mission to enable equal opportunities for disadvantaged groups in society through specially designed projects. Since the beginning of 2015, we have been involved in integration work with refugees, especially with refugee families, in Hamburg with our project beeMentor.
