Sprucing up and maintaining gardens at Cologne primary schools

Kleine Umwelthelden ("Little environmental heroes") are looking for support. Within the framework of the participatory working group, primary school children would like to spruce up and maintain their school grounds and garden.

Your Tasks

The following actions are to be implemented:

• Create raised beds or maintain existing ones
• Making the garden beautiful (mowing, weeding)
• Sowing wildflower strips
• Feeling parkour for hands and feet
• Insect hotels
• Covers for sitting area (Euro pallets)
• Garden landscaping

Time required

We are looking for volunteers who have time and desire to work with the kids on Tuesdays from 13:30 - 14:45 in the districts of Ostheim, Rodenkirchen, Porz, Ossendorf and Mühlheim.

The Office for Civic Commitment of the AWO Cologne is a consulting service. People who are willing to volunteer will receive advice and will be placed in organisations that work with volunteers. Further priority will be given to LESEMENTOR Cologne, young volunteers, further education and voluntary refugee work.
