We are looking for volunteers to create a meeting space with coffee, tea and cookies for refugees. In the café, the residents should have the opportunity to talk, exchange ideas, practice German, learn more about Berlin and Germany, etc.
- Preparing, following up and running the meetings,
- showing videos or presentations about Berlin and Germany,
- playing with children,
- speaking simple German with the residents (as a supplement to regular German courses that take place in the accommodation),
- your own ideas are very welcome.
Experience in working with refugees is an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
An extended certificate of good conduct must be submitted (free of charge for volunteers, we will help with the application).
Persons born after 1970 must be vaccinated against measles (Infection Protection Act).
Complete immunization against Covid-19 is desired.

The accommodation in the Askanierring is a reception centre, therefore it is to be expected that participants will constantly enter and leave.
The facility in Askanierring is a first accommodation for refugees who are new in Berlin. Temporary accommodation can accommodate up to 250 people of all ages and from different countries of origin.
