New products are sewn from used clothes and fabrics in the upcycling project *vergissmeinnicht*. A jacket becomes a backpack jacket(sewing instructions), an old shirt becomes a pillowcase or a cooking apron.
With our project we want to counteract the "fast fashion" and the fashion trend for the garbage can. In the project *forget-me-not* we create something new out of something old. The products are sold in our Berlin project shopcaridoo and at markets in Berlin and Potsdam - the proceeds go to social projects of the Caritasverband für das Erzbistum Berlin e.V. and thus benefit people in need.
The project takes place every Monday from 18-21 o'clock in the machBar in the Freiland Potsdam. The volunteer project leader on site is Michaela Schwenck. If you would like to join us, please contact her directly at vergissmeinnicht@caritas-brandenburg.de.
We are looking forward to new members and new creative ideas to expand our *forget-me-not* product line.
Together we sew new products from old clothes.
You don't have to meet any special requirements to participate.
What is important is that you know how to sew or that you want to learn how to sew.
The upcycling project takes place every Monday from 18:00-21:00.
You can come once. If you enjoyed it, we are of course happy if you come more often.
The youngcaritas Berlin belongs to the Caritasverband für das Erzbistum Berlin e.V. and promotes young people's commitment. Our goal is to introduce young people to politically and socially "explosive" topics and to teach them a more attentive and conscious use of environmental resources, both through theoretical input and through practical implementation. The goal of youngcaritas Berlin is to win as many young people as possible for voluntary work, be it for the youngcaritas projects "Kulturbuddys", *vergissmeinnicht* or through counselling and placement in various institutions and projects.
