From used clothes and fabrics are sewn in the upcycling project *vergissmeinnicht* new products. From jacket becomes backpack jacket (sewing instructions), from an old shirt a pillowcase or a cooking apron.
With our project we want to counteract the "fast fashion" and the fashion trend for the garbage can something. We create in the project *vergissmeinnicht* new from old. And the whole thing still with social added value: The products are sold in our Berlin project shop caridoo and at markets in Berlin and Potsdam - the proceeds flow into social projects of the Caritasverband für das Erzbistum Berlin e.V. and thus benefit people in need.
We are looking forward to growth and new creative ideas to expand our *vergissmeinnicht* product line.
Together we sew new products from old clothes.
The offer is for young sewers who own a sewing machine and have fun to deal with old materials (used clothes and fabrics, old bicycle tubes, etc.) and create new products from them. The offer is not suitable for beginners. Materials, fabrics and sewing machines are provided by us in the project store
The project takes place every second Tuesday from 18-21 o' clock in the project store caridoo. Each time an expert is there for you in the events.
The youngcaritas Berlin belongs to the Caritasverband für das Erzbistum Berlin e.V. and promotes young people's commitment. Our goal is to introduce young people to politically and socially "explosive" topics and to teach them a more attentive and conscious use of environmental resources, both through theoretical input and through practical implementation. The goal of youngcaritas Berlin is to win as many young people as possible for voluntary work, be it for the youngcaritas projects "Kulturbuddys", *vergissmeinnicht* or through counselling and placement in various institutions and projects.
