Helping where help is needed and being a companion on the side of those who need support. For 75 years, this has been what defines us and how we work. It was true 75 years ago just as it is today: we respond to the current situation and are committed to the people who had to flee from Ukraine.
Since Tuesday evening (01.03.), in constructive cooperation with the Berlin Senate Administration and the Berlin City Mission, we have set up accommodation for refugees from Ukraine at short notice in Berlin-Friedrichshain. Already we receive a lot of requests for support, for which we are deeply grateful!
The need for support exists until the end of August 2022. Time slots from the end of April will be published here on vostel after Easter.
At our info point and reception we need volunteers to take care of new refugees and provide them with all the necessary information. For this it isnecessary that you speak (some) Ukrainian or Russian and preferably already have experience in dealing with authorities, but this is not a prerequisite.
In particular Ukrainian, Russian and English, are helpful in all tasks.
The tasks are covered together with supporters of the Berlin City Mission, which means you will not work alone.
To volunteer with us you must be at least 16 years old.
You will find the refugee shelter Friedrichshain in Gubener Str. 42, 10min walk away from the U+S-Bhf. Warschauer Straße.
In view of the great interest to help refugees from Ukraine, the heartfelt request to you:
