Moabit Hilft and other initiatives have joined forces to guide refugees through the jungle of authorities and to shape a dignified arrival.
Mollstraße 1 (We@Alex) is a place that centrally, in the heart of the city, creates a neutral contact point for refugees - regardless of their origin. Supported by volunteers, doctors, asylum procedure consultants and language mediators, consultations on the topics of social benefits or asylum applications, private accommodation, stumbling blocks for third-country nationals and medical care are offered here as a priority.
We are happy to assist with scheduling to other needs. From childbirth to job search. This city has many professional very good places to go. We try to bundle these offers and make them accessible to the refugees.
On 600 m2, refugees can get answers to multiple unanswered questions.
Even those affected can be directly medically first care, transferred to regular medical care and tested for Corona, because there are health and nurses on site.
The distribution point of articles of daily use and the place for people to stay, rounds off this place as a safe space for refugees.
Also hosts, people who as a matter of course have already taken in refugees for weeks, will find answers here to their many questions.
Supporting the Infodesk after introduction.
You greet people and welcome them. Then you ask about their needs and forward them to one of our responsible offices so that they can be supported in the best possible way.
You can sign up for individual shifts here, but we are also happy to receive regular support.
Possible patience and stress resistance.
Here we work with those who are particularly in need of protection .
We therefore do not accept any racism, ableism, rejectionism, sexism, belittling or segregation of any kind .
We have been campaigning since 2013 as an active citizens' initiative for the protection of persecuted persons and refugees according to the Geneva Refugee Convention. Our goal is help for self-help, we work at eye level with the refugees and also demand this from authorities.
