Find housing for refugees

We are currently looking for new volunteers again for our housing hotline. We primarily mediate between refugees who are looking for a short- or medium-term housing and hosts who provide part of their living space. We have a hotline number, +4915174249545, which can be called from 10h to 22h. We also have WhatsApp and Telegram channels, through which we continuously receive new requests. 

We are located at Mollstraße 1, where a central contact point for refugees is planned. There are also paramedics, people from the supply team, legal advisors and many more.

Your Tasks

The following tasks await you:

• Calling hosts to find places for refugees to sleep
• Managing the hotline phone to enter new requests from refugees in our database and answering the questions from hosts 
• Managing our WhatsApp and Telegram channels
• If you speak Ukrainian or Russian: Attending to our front desk, where refugees are welcomed and their various needs are identified 

What's needed

Since we work with Google sheets, WhatsApp Web, and Telegram web, we assume good computer skills. You should either be fluent in German or in Ukrainian/Russian. Depending on your language skills, you will receive different tasks.

Sometimes things get a little hectic, but that's no reason to panic - you'll see that once you've had a successful placement, you won't be able to stop!

We have been campaigning since 2013 as an active citizens' initiative for the protection of persecuted persons and refugees according to the Geneva Refugee Convention. Our goal is help for self-help, we work at eye level with the refugees and also demand this from authorities.
