Support with your knowledge of German and Russian as a language mediator for moving and apartment hunting

In the "Leipzig helps Ukraine" group, a volunteer is involved with a Ukrainian, Russian-speaking family that is currently waiting to receive the cost approval for an apartment.

Your Tasks

If this cost transfer comes, the family needs a contact, which can help with the removal organization. It is a matter of organizing a transport or the move (with the help of the group "Leipzig helps Ukraine" and other available networks) and to coordinate small errands.

Should the assumption of costs not occur, the family needs support in the search for housing. We are happy to help you with helpful information, websites etc.

What's needed

Languages:

• Russian (fluent) for communication with family,
• German (fluent) for communication with the outside
   
• Both physically and mentally resilient,
• Good demarcation skills in stressful situations,
• Open and respectful interaction with people,
• Organizational skills

Time required

It is mainly bridging the absence of a volunteer already working for the family from the group "Leipzig helps Ukraine" (LHU) from the period 29.06. - 01.08.2022

In the project "Ehrenamtssupport" you also have the opportunity to receive free group or individual support in the design of your voluntary work, so that you can design it in such a way that you feel comfortable with it and, in case of questions or problems, get space to find solutions for you.
