About the volunteering opportunity

In cooperation with two transitional shelters and a daycare center, we want to offer play afternoons for children from Ukraine. The volunteers should accompany the children and parents in teams of 2-3 people at play afternoons and support them in a well-equipped and protected place to play exuberantly. The children are between 2 and 6 years old.  

Your Tasks

  • Pick up the families at the shelters
  • Accompany the family to the premises of the daycare
  • Play together, read aloud, tell fairy tales, do handicrafts
  • Talk to parents and ask for needs, if necessary forward and refer to other agencies
  • Properly lock premises and return keys
  • Give us a short feedback

What's needed

For this volunteering opportunity, basic German skills are required.

You are

  • you have English, Russian - or Ukranian knowledge
  • you would like to play with children, read aloud, storytelling, tinkering
  • for you proximity and distance principles are no foreign words

The dates take place in each case on Fridays from 15.00 o'clock - 17.30 o'clock. Initially, eight such game afternoons are planned, but you can also come to only one.

The prerequisite is that you participate in the introduction date on 27.07. from 17:30-19:30

    The AWO|FFM Volunteer Agency is located in the heart of the city and has been working with a team of 11 people since 2008 with over 500 social work institutions and arranges meaningful volunteer work in cooperation with many actors in the city. You will be informed in detail before your assignment, if necessary trained, insured and always have contact persons on site who will support you.
