About the volunteering opportunity
There are many young families without a reliable reference and trusted person nearby, such as grandparents, who can support them on a short-term or regular basis.
As an intended grandparent, you can provide the following tasks to relieve and support the parents or the parent relieve and support:
- give the children time and attention
- Kinder betreuen, if the parent has, for example, a doctor's appointment
- Bake Cake and cookies or cook together
- Care in case of illness
- walk and play
Your Tasks
Concrete help includes:
- Recreational activities
- Nature visits
- Homework help
All mentors receive preparation before they can care for the children.
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, intermediate German skills are required.
Patience and enjoyment of working with children.
A prerequisite for the assignment as a godmother/ godfather is the presentation of an extended police clearance certificate . We issue a certificate for the application for the free of charge.
We are happy to introduce interested volunteers to our association and our work in a personal consultation. If you want to support us actively, you can then take out a membership in our association (annual membership fee from 24.00 €).

The activities usually include one day a week for several hours. The exact times (day of the week and times) are agreed directly between the godparents and the families concerned.
