Providing food and clothing for homeless people on the street

You will support the preparation and implementation of an aid tour for homeless and needy people in Berlin.

Your Tasks

This shift is about distributing food, clothing and other donations in kind on our tour!
The meals prepared during the preparation shift from 2-6 pm will be distributed directly to needy and homeless people at central locations in Berlin
The meeting points are:
WEDNESDAY: from approx. 6:15 pm Leopoldplatz (next to the Schiller Library), from approx. 8:15 pm Kotti (on the traffic island under the U1)SATURDAY: from approx. 6:15 pm Kotti (on the traffic island under the U1 ), from approx. 8:15 pm Alexanderplatz (between the TV tower and the train station)SUNDAY: from approx. 6:30 pm Hansaplatz (under the small S-Bahn bridge by the petrol station)
TOUR PROGRESS

• 2:00 - 6:00 pm: Tour preparation: prepare food and clothing
• approx. 5:45 pm Check in and departure towards the starting point
• WEDNESDAY: from approx. 6:15 pm Leopoldplatz, from approx. 8:00 pm Kotti
• SATURDAY: from approx. 6:15 pm Kotti, from approx. 8:00 pm Alexanderplatz
• SUNDAY: from approx. 6:30 pm Hansaplatz
• approx. 10 pm: end of tour; return to Lynarstraße
• from approx. 10:30 pm: wrap-up (unloading, washing up, cleaning up)

What's needed

You should enjoy helping other people, bring weatherproof clothing (warm in winter) that can get dirty and be in a good mood. You should have a social streak and be able to approach people from many different backgrounds openly and have no fear of contact with these people. It is also important that you can see for yourself where help is needed, as there will not always be someone to explain everything to you.

What to bring

You do not need to bring any food. Drinks are available on site. You are also welcome to bring food or small souvenirs for the homeless (sweets or similar). Please also take a look at our needs list.

Every year more people live on the streets of Berlin. Far too seldom someone takes care of them, talks to them or cooks for them. We, the Berliner Obdachlosenhilfe e.V., are a non-profit organisation that would like to make a contribution to a social coexistence at this point.
