About the volunteering opportunity
We are looking for motivated volunteers for a 1:1 care on our vacation trips!
Every year we go with our clients (wide age range, but predominantly young people) to the beautiful Kinderbauerngut in Langenstriegis, Central Saxony . An old farm, free-range pigs, a stream running through the grounds, goats, hammocks, and and and. This is the ideal place to offer our clients a relaxing vacation and their families a nice relief. All things optional, nothing is a must: We offer on site a colorful program with various volunteer vacation activities.
To ensure our clientele a nice vacation, we are looking for volunteers for 1:1 care. Waiting for you, besides a lot of fun, are some unique exciting experiences, insights into the very diverse autism spectrum, lots of nice people, professional development and a certificate of participation. Each vacation trip is led by 2 main staff members of the Autism Center.

Your Tasks
You accompany your participant so that he/she* can have a nice and relaxed vacation. You will also take part in all the activities in which he/she* participates. In the evenings, you will get together with the other volunteers in a relaxed atmosphere.
If necessary, you may be required to carry out care activities. But don't worry: we will discuss with you in advance how much you are comfortable with!
What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
What you need to bring:
- An interest in the autism spectrum
- The willingness to meet the individual needs of your participant(s)
- The willingness to put your own needs aside if necessary
- Enjoy working in a team
- Mental resilience
- Bring your hobbies and talents to our trip :)
You don't necessarily need to bring this with you:
- Knowledge of autism (we will train you before the trip!)
- Training in the social field
Time required
Project-based
Our 2026 vacation trips will take place on 20-26.07.2026 and 27-02.08.2026.
In addition to the trip, there are 3 more dates (preparatory):
1x autism-specific training
1x preliminary meeting of your vacation trip
1x individual first meeting with your participant
Important notice
We have been going to Langenstriegis for many years and every time even our main volunteers come back with new, exciting insights about the Autism Center!
It is very important for us to mention that you are not on your own: you help each other in the volunteer team. If you are not confident in something, you need a break or you need help with something else, the leadership team is always available for you on the vacation trip.

About us: When we are not in Langenstriegis on a vacation trip, we accompany people from the entire autism spectrum in the form of 1:1 support and networking (see "More about the organization"), regardless of age and life situation. We perceive people on the autism spectrum as individual personalities with strengths and weaknesses. They're supported by us on their way to independent, self-reliant action in professional, school, personal, and public life. Since 2018 we are part of the BBW Leipzig Group and the Youth and Educational Support Association.
