About the volunteering opportunity
The young people in the MUT Academy (known as MUTis) attend the 10th grade of a Hamburg district school. In November, we spend a week together in a youth hostel, talk about various training occupations, prepare application documents and support the young people in an intensive examination of their own strengths. At the second camp in February, which takes place in Hamburg, the focus is on preparing for job interviews and being COURAGEOUS in contact with training companies. The aim is to strengthen the young people and to support and accompany them as they take the courageous step into training.
Your Tasks
During the one-week MUT Camps, you can get active in a variety of ways. The camps focus on workshops on the topics of MUT, careers and application documents. In addition, a jointly designed sports and leisure program ensures fun, new impulses and growing together. Part of the MUT Camp for you as a MUTivator:in is a preparatory training weekend.
As a workshop leader, you will plan and lead workshops for 10-12 young people. Teaching experience and knowledge of working with young people are valuable prerequisites for this.
As a team MUTivator and workshop assistant , you will support the implementation of the workshops and accompany the young people in their learning process.
As a camp management assistant, you will support the camp management with organizational matters. A driving license is required for this.
Together, everyone organizes the leisure, sports and TV program. Creativity, commitment and fun working with young people are required here.
Sufficient time for onboarding and getting to know each other is planned before each camp. The on-site work is always supervised by the full-time team, who are always on hand to answer questions and provide feedback. An expense allowance for the period is possible. What's needed
For this volunteering opportunity, advanced German skills are required.
You are a real doer who not only enjoys working with young people and has excellent communication skills, but also keeps an overview in challenging situations and masters them with a certain ease, humor and flexibility.

MUT Academy
The MUT Academy encourages young people in Hamburg to make a successful transition from school to working life. The students are supported in their individual career orientation process. The focus is on exploring their own strengths and interests, getting to know possible career paths and apprenticeships and providing concrete support throughout the application process. To this end, we organize MUT camps lasting several days, offer events throughout the year and accompany the young people individually on their way. The aim is to strengthen self-confidence and self-efficacy so that the young people can courageously take their future into their own hands and find a suitable follow-up perspective after the 10th grade. Volunteers and full-time MUTivators accompany the young people step by step and encourage them to take on new challenges.
