In-kind donation request
Houseplants
Information about the request
Description
1. Donate Houseplants: If you have houseplants you would like to share, we ask for your donation. Plants such as green lilies, ficus, aloe vera, peace lilies and succulents are especially popular and easy to care for. Not only will they add color and life to the rooms, but they will also help create a calming atmosphere.
2. Donations: If you don't have any houseplants but would still like to help, please feel free to leave a donation in the form of money. With these funds, we will purchase appropriate plants and also provide care and maintenance.
We thank you in advance for your generosity and compassion.
Your support can make a significant difference in the daily lives of the people who seek shelter in our reception center. A green and vibrant environment can provide comfort, alleviate anxiety and create an atmosphere of welcome.

Aufnahmeeinrichtung Biesdorf der Volkssolidarität Berlin
The Biesdorf reception facility of Volkssolidarität Berlin, operated since February 2023, offers space for up to 384 residents. The infrastructure includes 63 ground-level containers, each with two bedrooms, shared showers and bathrooms. Private space is emphasized as bathrooms are shared by only a few people. Green spaces with a sports field, playground and recreational areas are provided. This initial reception facility houses people on benefits under the Asylum Seekers' Benefits Act, including in-kind food and hygiene items.
The social team provides daily support, including documentation, communication with authorities and medical appointments. An open playroom is available for the children. Educational work focuses on basic German skills, daily routines and child development. School-age children and parents receive help with school registrations.
Cooperations are planned, such as German courses, vocational courses and cultural encounters. Integration guides assist with cultural translations. Regular consultation hours for neighbors are planned. The team's goal is high-quality care, clear communication and a sense of community.
