Fontanherzen e. V.

Fontanherzen e. V. is the Germany-wide non-profit association for several hundred people with half a heart, the most severe congenital heart defect.

They can only be kept alive in the first days / years thanks to complicated heart surgery (according to Prof. Fontan). Life expectancy and quality of life are very different.

It was founded in April 2012 by affected parents in order to exchange information among themselves as well as with specialized doctors about the special problems associated with this malformation.
