Phase BE – Bildung heißt Entwicklung gGmbH
Individual support, social impact - we support young people through sustainable personal development and targeted teaching of skills in the choice of career and in the transition to a professional future. Our central project is the Summer Academy, which accompanies young people for a whole year: We start with an intensive three-week summer camp during the vacations, after which we continue to support the young people in weekly meetings during the next school year.

Target group(s)
The target group of Phase BE are young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and social environments who often feel that others decide about their lives (~68%) and who are less optimistic about their future than young people growing up in a stable and secure environment. Their optimism has decreased even more as a result of the Covid-19 pandemic.
Because the German school system focuses heavily on building academic knowledge and promoting an academic career, rather than preparing students for the world of work, it is not always appropriate for these students in particular. Young people from disadvantaged backgrounds and with psychological burdens often fall through the cracks and do not receive enough support in the critical phase between school and vocational training. This is precisely where Phase BE comes in.

The phase BE - education means development gGmbH is certified by the HZA, the Hanseatic certification agency after the right of the work promotion in connection with the accreditation and permission regulation - AZAV. Therefore, the social enterprise is financed on the one hand by funds from regional employment agencies. On the other hand, Phase BE finances itself through cooperations with foundations, companies and regional chambers of industry and commerce (IHK).
Objectives
Demographic change, steady academization of society and growing digitalization in the world of work are changing the demands on young people in the transition from school to work. Insecure, at risk and quickly left behind are young people who face personal difficulties and disadvantages in this key phase.
Phase BE supports and educates them to develop their skills. Muliplikator:innen, Lehrer:innen und Studierende lernen durch die Arbeit neue Seiten an sich kennen und tragen ihre Erfahrungen in ihre Arbeitsbereiche weiter.
Gemeinsam wollen wir damit mit ganzheitlichen Kompetenz-Entwicklung qualifizieren, Bildung von morgen gestalten und starke Menschen für eine starke Gesellschaft prägen.
