About Us
The International Friendship Association (IFA) gGmbH is a legally registered non-profit corporation (HRB 108288, Frankfurt am Main), founded in 2017. We operate with full tax-exempt status and uphold the highest standards of financial transparency and accountability, with annual statements certified by FSW.tax Steuerberatungsgesellschaft.
Our mission is to empower communities, foster intercultural inclusion, and advance sustainable development. We believe that every person—especially those with a migration background, refugees, and disadvantaged groups—deserves equal opportunity, dignity, and support.

- Sponsorship and empowerment programs for vulnerable children, especially those affected by HIV/AIDS.
- Educational support: school fees, uniforms, textbooks, and creative learning materials.
- Girls’ education initiatives in Dodola District, Oromia—providing scholarships, safe accommodation, and mentoring to prevent dropout and early exploitation.
- Women’s empowerment projects, enabling rural women to achieve economic independence and social participation.
- Future initiative: Multipurpose Training Centre of Excellence—linking vocational training, German language preparation, and international placement opportunities.

Funding
Currently, IFA gGmbH does not have salaried staff due to limited financial resources. All activities are managed by dedicated volunteers and board members. We are actively seeking funding to establish paid positions that will strengthen our impact and sustainability.
Objectives

Promote intercultural dialogue and integration in Germany
- Organize cultural events, seminars, and forums to strengthen understanding between migrants, refugees, and German society.
- Provide counseling and support services for displaced persons and families.

Support education and empowerment in Ethiopia
- Offer scholarships, school materials, and safe accommodation for disadvantaged children, especially girls at risk of dropping out.
- Empower women in rural communities through vocational training, economic independence, and social participation.

Strengthen youth engagement and volunteerism
- Mobilize university students and young people in Germany and Ethiopia to participate in intercultural and social impact projects.
- Build inclusive volunteer networks that foster solidarity and leadership skills.

- Develop grassroots projects in Ethiopia, including community-based education, health, and livelihood initiatives.
