Müttergenesungswerk

The Elly Heuss-Knapp Foundation, Deutsches Müttergenesungswerk (MGW) was founded in 1950 by Elly Heuss-Knapp, the wife of Germany's first president. The goal of the non-profit foundation is to keep mothers healthy. Nationwide, more than 1,000 counseling centers are available to answer questions about spa measures. In 72 facilities recognized by the Müttergenesungswerk, the MGW carries out preventive and rehabilitation measures for mothers as well as for mothers with children.

Under the umbrella of the MGW, five welfare associations or their working groups cooperate (AWO, DRK, EVA, KAG, Parität). The foundation is under the patronage of the woman at the side of the Federal President, Elke Büdenbender. The work of the Müttergenesungswerk is based on donations.
