Xenion psychosoziale Hilfen für politisch Verfolgte e.V.
XENION - Psychosoziale Hilfen für politisch Verfolgte e.V. is a psychosocial treatment and counseling center that was founded in 1986. In addition to various therapy services and social counseling, we support particularly vulnerable refugees through our volunteer programs.
Project description: The mentoring program provides, qualifies and supervises volunteer mentors for refugee families and adults.
Mentors make time for their mentees once a week over the course of a year. They are supported by the project coordinator throughout the duration of the project, can take part in further training on topics such as asylum and residence law and exchange ideas with other mentors at reflection sessions and regular get-togethers.
With a focus on the areas of education and work, we arrange and support mentorships between volunteers (mentors) and young refugees aged between 14 and 25 (mentees) in the "Parcours Plus" project. Young refugees face particular challenges on their path to education and work and often lack support and guidance during this difficult phase.
