"Distribute food - alleviate poverty." Under this mission, Schweizer Tafel collects surplus food in perfect condition from wholesalers, producers and retailers and distributes it free of charge to social institutions that care for people living in poverty. The food, which is past its sell-by date but not its use-by date, is in perfect condition and can therefore be put to good use instead of being thrown away.
