Our mission is to reduce massive food waste by using high-tech and with a sustainable business model to achieve scaling.
With SirPlus we make rescuing food mainstream. We rescue surplus, expired and food not fitting the norm along the whole supply chain from being wasted and sell it at reduced prices in the first Food Outlet Store in Berlin (Wilmersdorfer Straße 59) as well as per delivery. More or less 20% of rescued food will be donated to social organisations.
Our second step will be to establish a digital market place to connect supply and demand in a systematic and intelligent way. With the platform we approach every member of supply chain and connect the stakeholders: from farmers and producers to distributors and logisticians to wholesale and supermarkets. For non-profit organizations like Berliner Tafel, Foodsharing and others the usage of the software will be free of charge. Our crowdfunding was running very successfully on www.startnext.com/sirplus until July.
