DOK Leipzig takes place every year in the fall and is unique in its combination of documentary and animated film. During the festival week, we show around 250 short and long films and extended reality (XR) works in Leipzig.

Every year, motivated documentary and animated film enthusiasts support us during and immediately around the festival week. They take a look behind the scenes of DOK Leipzig, meet our filmmakers, answer questions from our audience and can immerse themselves in the festival with an accreditation.

Funding
DOK Leipzig receives half of its funding from the city, state and federal government. There are also partnerships and sponsoring.
Objectives
DOK Leipzig makes it its mission to present these films to as wide an audience as possible and thus contribute to an exchange about art and the world. As a festival, we would like to invite our audience to engage with new perspectives.
