Die Stadtinsel e.V.
In Hamburg, Germany's city with the most income millionaires, every 5th child grows up below the poverty line. This is not only associated with cramped living conditions or a lack of cultural activities for children, but the circumstances in which children grow up also affect their educational opportunities and basic needs such as food or seasonal clothing.
As Stadtinsel, we are convinced that every child is valuable and talented. The district in which a child grows up should not determine the child's future at such an early age. We want to be at the side of children and young people as constant caregivers and show them how much potential and value they have.
To this end, we have a range of different services with which we reach more than 300 different children and young people in structurally disadvantaged districts and/or with a history of flight. We are currently active in five districts.
