CONNECT - Ein Projekt von TERRE DES FEMMES

Women who have fled to Germany and seek protection here face major challenges. Many of them have fled their country of origin to escape gender-specific violence such as genital mutilation, violence in the name of honor or forced marriage. During their flight, they are once again exposed to a particular risk of women-specific violence. Once they arrive in Germany, they are particularly physically and psychologically burdened by these experiences In order to successfully participate in society as a whole, refugee women must overcome further obstacles. TERRE DES FEMMES has launched the CONNECT - Empowerment for Refugee Women mentoring program to make it easier for women to participate in society as a whole in Germany and to promote interpersonal encounters. CONNECT aims to support refugee women when they arrive in Germany and to accompany them on their integration journey. The aim is to enable them to lead a self-determined and free life in Germany. Who should be supported: The CONNECT project is aimed at refugee women currently living in Berlin - regardless of their legal residence status. Who should be supported: Secondly, the project is aimed at women who were born in Germany or are already successfully integrated in Germany and would like to take on a voluntary sponsorship for at least one year.
