Ombudsstelle für Kinder- und Jugendrechte in Hessen e.V.
We support children and young people placed in care homes or foster families, their guardians and foster families as well as young adults in Hesse in knowing their rights and articulating them to independent and public agencies. We provide independent and free advice, help to balance power imbalances and remind people of children's and young people's rights where these are not being respected.

Funding
We are commissioned by the state of Hesse to implement the legal requirements according to §9a SGB VIII in Hesse and the counseling center is financed by this.
Objectives
Our ombudsman's office exists to empower children, teenagers and young adults in Hesse. We provide them with a comprehensible, low-threshold and independent point of contact to know, understand and assert their rights. Our work is aimed at balancing out power asymmetries and creating spaces in which the concerns of young people are heard and taken seriously. With our commitment, we help to ensure that rights do not just exist on paper, but are put into practice.
