As a non-profit association, the APS is committed to improving patient safety, as an estimated 19,000 people still die every year from avoidable medical errors. With the help of the approximately 800 members of the APS, recommendations for action can be published regularly.
The APS is also the consortium leader of several non-profit projects, funded by the BMG, for health education. These include the #DeutschlandErkenntSepsis campaign (www.deutschland-erkennt-sepsis.de).

The APS is a non-profit organization that is financed by membership fees and donations. In addition, some larger projects are funded, including by the Federal Ministry of Health.

The aim is to improve patient safety at various levels and in various key areas. This will make our healthcare system safer, better and more efficient for everyone.
