Brot am Haken e.V.

Brot am Haken is a social startup that encourages giving in everyday life and connects people in the neighbourhood. It's very simple: you buy two pretzels from your favourite bakery around the corner, but only take one with you. You hang the receipt for the second one on the wooden hookboard. A gift for someone who is happy about this gesture. Eventually this gift is for everybody. Meanwhile, there is Brot am Haken in bakeries, cafes, ice cream parlors, hairdressers and cultural institutions. Giving a present becomes more and more common in everyday life. Our philosophy is "Simply. Give. Joy.” and that often starts on a small scale. Everyone enjoys receiving presents or making a gift. It creates a sense of community in the hood.
