EURIST e.V. (European Institute for Sustainable Transport)
EURIST is an organization dedicated to promoting the environmental, social and economic sustainability of transport and mobility worldwide - but currently focusing primarily on Africa and implementing projects with cargo e-bikes there. Our work concentrates on the links between transport and CO2 emission reduction, transport and the UN SDGs of poverty reduction, gender equity, jobs and sustainable urban development.

Target group(s)
People in Africa who have little access to mobility. Furthermore, political decision-makers and institutions that are responsible for fair and environmentally friendly mobility. We also work with local and international NGOs and institutions such as UNEP, UNDP, UNHABITAT, the EU and GIZ. Since our work also includes research and evaluation, we also work with German and international universities and run courses.

Objectives
Promoting sustainable mobility worldwide - ecologically, socially and economically.
Support for low-carbon transportation systems and climate protection in the mobility sector.
Focus on Africa: projects to promote environmentally friendly mobility, e.g.
- Introduction and distribution of e-bikes and cargo bikes,
- Building local capacities and training ("capacity building"),
- Improving road safety and access to mobility in developing regions.
Advising and networking decision-makers, cities and institutions.
Promoting the exchange of knowledge and sustainable transport policy.
