Refood 4 Good

The Refood Movement’s core mission is to rescue food and feed people, but its action goes further: it promotes circular economy, reduces organic waste (with clear environmental benefits), and strengthens civic engagement through a 100% volunteer, community-led project.

Funding

Refood operates with low operations costs, relying primarily on small individual donations from individuals, support from local partners, and the voluntary work of its community members. Additional funding comes from occasional grants and awards, which are reinvested into training, infrastructure, and the expansion of new Refood centers.

Objectives

The objectives of Refood are centred on reducing food waste, stopping hunger, and creating more connected communities. Our main goals include:

  1. Eliminating food waste by rescuing surplus food from local businesses and redirecting it to those who need it most.

  2. Providing dignified food support to individuals and families facing economic hardship, ensuring regular access to nutritious meals.

  3. Strengthening community bonds by empowering citizens to volunteer, collaborate, and take responsibility for improving their own neighbourhoods.

Together, these objectives ensure Refood continues to deliver meaningful social impact while inspiring communities to build a more inclusive and sustainable future.
