With the wellcome - practical help after the birth service, we support parents who would like some relief during this time, especially when other helping hands are not available. Our volunteers support families in a practical and uncomplicated way.

Target group(s)
wellcome - practical help after the birth is an offer for all families in the first year of life after the birth of a child who feel subjectively in need of help (e.g. exhaustion after the birth) or are under particular strain (e.g. due to multiple births, premature babies, separation). The help is unbureaucratic, low-threshold and independent of income, social context or medical indication.

wellcome – Praktische Hilfe nach der Geburt ist ein Angebot der wellcome gGmbH. Seit 2002 unterstützen Ehrenamtliche Familien, mittlerweile an über 200 Standorten in Deutschland, Österreich und der Schweiz.

Your support helps
young parents with a good start to family life. As a wellcome volunteer, you help in a very concrete way: a walk with the baby, playing with the sibling or accompanying the mother or father to the pediatrician. And it's very flexible: you meet the family once or twice a week for 2 - 3 hours for 3 - 4 months. Then the next family is already looking forward to it. No special qualifications are necessary, as you will be well supported by your team coordinator.
