Target group(s)

The Albert Schweitzer Children's Village in Alt Garge is a comprehensive youth services organization that operates social-educational facilities and programs in the Lüneburg region. Its programs and services are aimed equally at families, children, and adolescents, as well as youth welfare offices.

Funding

The costs are borne by the local youth welfare offices in accordance with the relevant provisions of the KJHG (Sections 34, 35, 35a, 41). In individual cases, funding may also be available under § 39/100 of the Federal Social Welfare Act (BSHG). Project-based funding may also include funds from the State of Lower Saxony and the European Union.

Objectives

Our mission and goal is to provide children from troubled family backgrounds with guidance, stability, and an environment conducive to their development in a family-like setting. Educational support is tailored to each individual case based on a support plan and according to the child’s specific needs. 

Your support helps

  • for handyman services for the Alt Garge Children’s Village, e.g., small everyday repairs such as painting, minor maintenance, and landscaping on the Children’s Village grounds
  • Transportation services for the Children’s Village
  • Workshops (music, art, vacation programs)
